THE INAUGURAL HANGING OF
THE NEW DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. BLVD STREET SIGNS
took place last Saturday, June 5th with SCLC and other celebrants in the broad coalition, at the intersection of
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd and The Paseo.
We marked this historic victory as a sign of peace and justice in our City and community.
The "21 Days of Peace" initiative will kick off this Sunday, June 13th and is purposed to call our community to a cease fire and beseech us to seek non-violent pathways for conflict resolution.

Tuesday, April 13, 2021, the KCMO Parks Board Commissioners approved the resolution to rename the Blue Parkway/Swope Parkway/Volker Blvd corridor to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Blvd. This long awaited, anticipated victory would not have occurred had it not been for your support and dedication to make this historic success possible.
SCLC-GKC is honored to have partnered with so many justice seeking, peace making individuals and groups to help make this victory a reality.
Thank you for the invaluable support and contribution you and your organizations made to this historic victory in Kansas City and to the ongoing work of SCLC-GKC.

Mr. Kevin Woolfolk, Director of Membership Engagement and Activism is a Missouri native who has spent decades in St. Louis and Kansas City fighting for the rights of the marginalized and oppressed within society. During his work with SCLC-GKC over the last year he has proven diligent and effective in helping to mobilize and organize coalitions, provide execution of strategic plans, analysis of membership data and processes, co-hosting our weekly broadcast, and supporting protests and advocacy on the ground. SCLC-GKC is thankful for Kevin's participation in SCLC GKC's broader work to advance justice, peace, equity, and the beloved community.

SCLC-GKC President's Prophetic Voice, Activism, and Organizing!
We congratulate our president for leading the mobilization efforts in our March and Rally for Peace and Justice in April. We congratulate Dr. Howard for being selected among 51 "Missouri Influencers" by the KC Star newspaper.
Dr. Howard will be helping frame and shape the public conversation around various issues, including economic justice, in articles and commentary in that publication starting now and leading up to the November election. Look for Dr. Howard's prophetic voice in the Star's "Missouri Influencer" series.
